:white_check_mark: Step 1: Create a Friction Log

Please record anything that slows you down, confuses you, or doesn’t work.

What to log:

  • Time to complete each step
  • Frustration points
  • Bugs or crashes
  • Error messages
  • Anything unclear or missing from instructions
  • Anything missing or unclear in docs
  • UI/UX quirks

How to log it:

  • Use a plain text file, Google Doc, or Notion-style doc
  • Write down the issue, what you were trying to do, and what happened
  • Take screenshots if helpful

Example entry:

Tried to run `npm install`, got error `ERR_PACKAGE_PATH_NOT_EXPORTED`. Not sure what to do—maybe a missing dependency?

Tips:

  • Narrating your thoughts aloud is a huge bonus
  • If that’s not possible, make sure your friction log is extra detailed

:compass: Step 4: Complete the Three Walkthroughs

There are three guided experiences inside the extension.

Please go through all three:

  1. Get Started with TestDriver
    • Install dependencies
      • When running testdriverai init please choose to use “sandbox” mode.
      • TestDriver API do not require a credit card
    • Run your first working test with TestDriver
  2. Generate tests with Self-Driving mode
    • Learn how to write reusable tests that simulate real user behavior
  3. Deploy to GitHub Actions
    • See how TestDriver fits into your CI/CD pipeline

Log any bugs, friction, or UX feedback in your friction log and include them in your recording.
